A recent article on Yahoo showed the Mall of Asia as one of the biggest shopping malls in the world! It’s amazing that even though our country is faced with so many problems we still all end up shopping like crazy. Hehe.
Congratulations to the SM Group of Companies! This is definitely something that they can be proud of.

A barrage of complaints and suits were filed against the Philippine government by various members of the media this afternoon. They filed cases before the Makati Regional Trial Court. This resulted to a TRO being ordered by the Makati RTC Judge barring any military or police personnel from arresting members of the media for 72 hours. But wait, there’s more! Around 81 journalists also trooped towards the Supreme Court asking them to stop the government from threatening to file criminal cases against journalists if they interfere in military operations. First, let me apologize for not being able to post the past few days. I’ve been busy working on revising the layout of my online gaming blog, waukster dot com. The new format is now really kick ass and I can’t wait to apply the same layout here! Anyway, today’s topic is about EDSA II. President GMA has ordered her troops not to celebrate the event that catapulted her into power. (more…)

It started with Arnel Pineda and his band (ZOO) posting their performances on Youtube. Call it a miracle if you will but a member of the band that they cover watches their performance online and books him for an audition. What happens next? Arnel Pineda is now the lead singer of Journey, the band the brought us hits like “Open Arms” and “Don’t Stop Believing”. Watch Arnel belt it out in one of his local performances after the jump! When was the last time you saw Former President Estrada so happy? Multi-awarded Actor, Mayor, Senator, Vice President, President, Convicted Plunderer, Pardoned, and now a free man with full political and civil rights. He has a lot of reasons to be if you ask me.

Let me think out loud for a bit. Since Trillanes took Manila Pen hostage, the words “Press Freedom” have become very popular. Remember how the media forgot that a senator bolted out of his hearing and decided to start a millitary uprising? The hot issue became how the government treated the press. This could have been prevented if there were laws that tackle the role of the media in situations like this. We need legislation like this not only to protect the media, but also to make sure that the operations of the police and AFP are not compromised because a reporter decided to sneak in to get exclusive coverage. What is it with our Congressmen? I really can’t believe sometimes how “makapal” they are. It’s already an established fact that politicians take kickbacks from their projects. This is even more evident for Congressmen and Senators who have access to Pork Barrel. If you guys ready the newspaper yesterday, the House of Representatives is pushing for an increase of up to 4B PHP in budget just for the Pork Barrel Fund. Mabuti sana kung sa mga tao pupunta yung pera na yan! (more…)

With so many names being floated as candidates lately, it seems like everyone is really gunning for the top two posts in the Philippines. Just recently, another name was added to the list: Batangas Governor Vilma Santos. If you think about it, she’s actually a strong contender especially if no good name comes up as her possible opponent. Her experience as a local executive combined with her star power will be more than enough to give her that boost she needs to win. (more…)

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano recently said in an interview that LAKAS-CMD is the likely target of poachers especially if they don’t get a good standard bearer for the 2010 Presidential Elections. With every day that passes, this becomes more evident. If you have been reading the broadsheets, there’s always an item for the past weeks that discusses potential LAKAS-CMD standard bearers. Numerous names have already popped up, including opposition Senator Loren Legarda. (more…)
