The Tipping Point – Will it Happen for Lozada?

The Arroyo administration has survived several impeachment raps and destabilization efforts mainly because the Filipino people have not yet jumped in like what happened in EDSA. This scores the importance of the “tipping point”, or the instance wherein everything comes together like a snowflake falling from the sky then becoming a snowball rolling in the mountainside and eventually turns into a massive avalanche. It’s the instance in between from being a snowball to an avalanche – that’s the tipping point.

Now the question is – will it finally happen? Personally, I do not want another EDSA revolution. Mainly because it undermines the constitutional processes we have in place. I’d rather Lozada bring evidence in black and white which will link the government officials he’s been pointing at. I agree with Senator Miriam Santiago when she said that right now it’s just a bunch of allegations and Malacanang can easily just shrug if off because there’s no paper trail.

If there is no evidence, there will be no tipping point. I can only shudder at the though of what will happen to Lozada if the media spotlight is taken away from him. He will have a hard time finding work and he will always be at the mercy of the government wolves. I can only pray for his safety and well-being if that happens.

Today in the Senate, Lozada faces off against the government officials which he singled out in his testimony. This is definitely something to watch.
