“Corruption Affects the Youth.” – Caloocan Bishop

MANILA, Philippines–Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez Jr. of the Diocese of Caloocan explains that corruption in the government spirals down and affects the youth. In the wake of the national broadband network controversy hounding the Arroyo administration, the Church and youth groups held a candle lighting ceremony and forum at Caritas Manila on February 21, 2008. I agree with the Bishop 100%. All the blatant corruption builds a society of apathy. For the Philippines these days Ignorance is more infectious than nationalism.

On the other hand, ignorance is now being confused with nationalism. Tell the youth our government is corrupt, present them a witness who laughs at every comment and cries on every threat he receives, they’ll believe it with no second thought. They’d march up and laugh and cry for the same thing. Sadly, the media hype is actually confusing the young minds. I really don’t believe in Lozada. I don’t like GMA either. But who cares, right? If Ragnarok deserves to be wiped for the corruption, I can only say it’s about time that this wipe happens to our government as well. I’d say a total wipe would do and the current politicians shouldn’t be allowed to run for any position. They are the root of all these evilness. No matter how many times we change administrations, if the same “righteous” people would run and win the positions, we’re just going back to square one.

Let me rephrase what I said about Lozada. I mean, he may be saying the truth, but listen to his statements, he’s saying it in a way that would make him sound the “good guy” when in truth, he IS very much part of this crap and he’s just saving his big probinsyanong intsik ass by washing his hands now. Talk about going to mass almost everyday with all the other righteous ex-leaders.
