Mar Roxas Tide Commercial

What’s a legal and effective way to campaign even before that actual campaign period starts? Be an endorser for a consumer brand. Presidential candidate Mar Roxas teams up with TIDE in this 30 second TVC. It’s actually not done in bad taste seeing as Mar’s persona as Mr.Palengke is clearly communicated.

Expect to see more politicians doing the same in the coming days. I saw Herbert Bautista already on a billboard in Katipunan endorsing Hang Ten. Ping Lacson is also endorsing something (I forgot lang). I’ll try to get copies or pictures and post them here.

I’d have to say that’s the first time I’ve heard of such thing. Iba talaga ang pinoy. hehehe

  2. And not only that. Have you seen the newspapers this Feb. 26? Most of it were headlines about TIDE. I was even surprised when I saw it along the road.

    ORAS NA! ROXAS NA!

  3. BTW, i was the one who uploaded that video in youtube courtesy of jenny bugarin, sen. roxas’ media chief.

Theyre all fighting for power in the next 2010 elections.

the Question that always triggered my head: can one man(or woman) be trusted with executive powers? (some would say the most powerful position in this nation.)

If not, who is the lesser evil? for the nth time! ang hirap pumili ng iboboto. ..

  5. Myk says:

Is he desperate? Why detergent powder? because he wants to be known as figure for “masa”

Enumerate what you have done, that touches the masa.

you have been a politician half of your life, so we expect a lot that you have done.

Where? not Roxas, not another bluff. Our country cannot move forward if “Pa-pogi” figure once again nourishes our election. We want to move forward.

If we start a boycott of companies who are getting presidentiables as endorsers., I am sure this will all stop in no time.

We all know that these advertisements are wrong and the companies are basically openly engaging in graft and corruption, yet people do not seem to mind.

I think a boycott, even by a few commenters here on the internet, as long as it is communicated, will be effective. This is just one little way to advance fairness in our elections.
