The CBCP released their statement yesterday calling for the government to lead the battle against the corruption and for the country to continue it’s search for the truth. They did not ask for GMA to resign, and I agree with the CBCP on this particular issue. Let’s take a step back and analyze where we are now because in reality asking GMA to resign is simply the easy way out. It’s lazy for the opposition and the civil service groups to keep on clamoring for the president to resign. We have the impeachment process and that’s where we should focus on. We have to make the system work for us and not the other way around.
A Numbers Game
Yes – the administration will not allow an impeachment complaint to move forward once it reaches the House of Representatives. Why? Because if something like that hits the Senate, it’s almost safe to say that GMA will get impeached. The problem is that we simply don’t have the numbers in the lower house. That’s actually our fault since we elected congressmen who are easily paid off by Pork Barrel allocations. The question now is – what should we do? The answer? People Power.
New People Power
I’m not saying that people march to EDSA and stage a rally until GMA resigns. That will NOT WORK. GMA is a master of politics and I’m pretty sure that they can come up with a multitude of PR campaigns to make sure that the Filipino people’s fervor for change will eventually die down. They will continue to malign and destroy the reputation of all the witnesses that come out to attack them. That’s the nature of Philippine politics – one big PR battle.
If you want GMA out and you want change then don’t go to EDSA. Go to your local municipalities and keep on shouting until your local officials hear you. Hell, you might even want to stage rallies in the houses of your congressmen, mayors, and governors. Hold them accountable to their DUTY TO REPRESENT YOU. Make the process work for you and don’t just wish that GMA will just give up. Remember that they are YOUR VOICE and if you don’t let them know how you feel then there’s no way they will speak for you when the times come to make that crucial vote.
Make the process work for you. Besides, it will taste much sweeter if she gets impeached rather than her resigning, hehe.

and why not she should…
her companion called her evil and b*tch she must be ashamed of that but money is so powerful and being a president that’s where money is that’s she’s still keep holding on her position cause she don’t want to loose the money…
shame on you GMA…

OT:
talk about a scenario on the tropico game =P
And have erap take on the seat? Gees..
who will replace her?
God’s sake…the country are moving forward at least.
Even if all sectors, church and media are against her.
she manages to stay firm for what she believe.
Let him finish her term, and compare to all administration what she did.
The CBCP, Supreme Court, AFP-PNP, Congressmen, Governors, Municipal and city mayors,
Councilors, Barangay Captains and the silent majority of Filipinos support her.. I think it would be foolish on her part if she resigns.
Some of you guys will never be satisfied whoever sits as President, do you? Most of the malicious accusations to Pres. GMA were simply like that, accusations. Opposition will just hear what they want to hear and believe just what the want to believe in. Most of them have already pre judged the Chief Executive, capitalizing on her “unpopularity” by bashing her and then running for public office and winning it unfortunately. The silent but thinking, open minded filipinos still believes in her and supports her. You can’t fault her excellent work ethics and principles even at the expense of being unpopular to the majority.
Please don’t forget that most of our problems stemmed way back from her predecessors and it didn’t happen overnight. Remember that each one of us has a significant role in nation building. What have we done good lately for our country?
