I want to write a book

I’ve always been a voracious reader all my life. When I was young, I was a huge fan of fantasy fiction novels. I remember trying to read Lord of the Rings when I was still in elementary. I didn’t actually understand the damn book so I got hooked on easier reads instead like Dragonlance and various Forgotten Realm titles. Fast forward to today, I’m still a book geek. I love reading marketing, management, and even self-help books but I also still try to read a good fiction title every now and then. Anyway - let’s get to the point. I want to write a book. It’s one of my dreams that I have to achieve before I’m 30 (well according to my 10 year plan lol). A good friend of mine said that blogging about aspirations is a way of making a public promise, so I hope I’ll find more time in the coming weeks to start working on a few chapters already, hehe.

I already drafted the possible chapters and the contents of the book. I even got as far as already working on the book cover and the title. I won’t spoil it yet and announce what I’ll be writing about but I’ll definitely talk more about the book as the days go by. By the way, it’s not fiction, hehe.

Looking forward to it … you need to give yourself a date though, a deadline so that completing the book doesn’t become a moving target.

Thanks for the comments guys. I’m planning to write the entire book by the end of August and have it printed within the year na rin. :)

If you don’t yet have a publisher you might consider self-publishing. It’s on-demand book printing where you don’t have to put up a whole lot of money in the beginning. I went to LuLu.com for my book. When somebody wants to buy a copy they print it up and the people have it within the week. The book costs $10. I make $2.48. Or, you can have it be a download for $3 and still make $2.40. All those prices depend upon how big your book is and how many pictures it has. You can pay LuLu for marketing services to get you an ISBN if you want which is what a lot of people do. Good Luck!
