Other than going to VCF every Sunday, I usually have small group sessions twice a week. One is a rather medium sized group with Pastor Dennis, and the other one is with a really small group of around 4-5 people. I made an analogy last week when I was talking with Bu, our small group fearless leader, about how Spirituality is when you’re playing an MMORPG. It’s like your bonus energy – something that really gives you an extra “oomppphh!” to go through everyday with more passion and dedication. I personally feel more refreshed, excited, and energized after I come from Sunday service or our small groups. That additional energy is like the “nitro” button in most racing games – it gives you the additional boost needed to run the extra mile in a split second.

In all my life, I’ve never thought how big an impact spirituality can be in everyday matters. I used to think that it was just here every Sunday (for church) and you can call on God when you’re in a ditch. This is really the first time that my spirituality is fueling my drive to grow as a professional and as a person.

How does that actually happen? It’s pretty simple actually. When you have a deeper spirituality or relationship with God, you get this feeling of inner peace. The future also looks more clearer as opposed to having no foresight at all. Your priorities also get aligned again to things that matter. It’s really amazing and I hope that this feeling never leaves unlike the ones you get after 3-day retreats, hehe. I’ve been going to VCF for more than 3 months now and I can honestly say that it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone at VCF, especially to the people at my small groups. I know I’ll continue to make mistakes but at least I have people to keep on pushing me towards the right direction.
