Food Trip Episode 2: Finio

For the second episode of Food Trip, I’ll talk about another restaurant in Quezon City. Located along Tomas Morato (across Alfredo’s), Finio is a simple looking restaurant that doesn’t really stand out when compared to the other establishments in the area. However, you’re in for a surprise because the food here is really superb and is priced just right. Before I proceed, I’d like to thank my auntie Toots for treating Mich and myself!

Fioni's BBQ Spareibs

BBQ Spareribs – Yummehhhhh~!

Complete review after the jump.

We ordered several dishes – the BBQ Spareribs, Baked Tahong, Calamres, Sinigang na Hipon, Boneless Crispy Pata, and Leche Flan for dessert. Among all the dishes, the ones that really left an impression on me were the BBQ Spareribs, Baked Tahong, Boneless Crispy Pata, and the Leche Flan. The BBQ Spareribs was so juicy that I can still taste the sauce I think about it.

Fioni's Baked Tahong

Baked Tahong

The Baked Tahong was also great. They baked it with cheese, garlic, and butter and it really melded together well with the clam meat when you put it in your mouth. I wasn’t able to taste the Boneless Crispy Pata but according to my aunt and Mich, it was also very good.

Fioni's Sinigang na Hipon

Sinigang na Hipon

One thing that I didn’t like though was the Sinigang na Hipon. The prawns were so small that it wasn’t worth the effort of taking out the shells and the head. It was a good thing that the soup was okay but then again it’s pretty hard to mess the soup up when it’s Sinigang. The Calamares was also plain – nothing special about it except for the potato chips on the side.

Fioni's Leche Flan

RAWR SARAP AMPF!!!

The one dish that really blew me away was the desert – their Leche Flan. OMG! It was so big, juicy, sweet, and just fantastic. I daresay that this is one of the best deserts I’ve had in a long time.

Here’s my over-all rating for the restaurant. It’s actually just at par with Gusi’s. By the way, the waiters were also very courteous and helpful – or maybe because the knew I’d review the place since I was taking pics of all the food? Lol.

(1 – Lowest, 5 – Highest)
Restaurant Cleanliness: 4/5
Restaurant Theme: 2/5
Customer Service: 5/5
Quality of Food: 3/5
Price of Food: 3/5
Over-all Rating: 3.4/5

To sum everything up, I see myself going back to Finio and ordering the BBQ Spareribs and the Leche Flan. However, just like Gusi’s I don’t see myself going back frequently… for now. Or until I get addicted to the Leche Flan. Bwahahah. @_@

For the parking, that’s a good idea. I’ll include that in the next Food Trip episode.
