Today’s headline for the Philippine Daily Inquirer pretty much says it all. In the 28 years that Sulpicio lines has been operating, they’ve encountered 45 incidents of collision, sinking, caught on fire, or even stalled at sea for days. How many people have died because of this? While there is not definite count yet, the recorded deadliest incident was in 1987 when the MV Dona Paz collided with another ship. This resulted in the deaths of 4,300 people. That’s 4,300 affected families – children who will never see their parents again or vice-versa.
How many more will have to die? Riding a ship from Sulpicio looks like entering a death sentence! I can’t remember if it was Senator Pimental who said that Sulpicio should not do business at something that they’re not good at. Instead of running ships, they should just set-up a funeral parlor.
I hope that the on-going investigation leads to actions that will really make a difference. I pray that it won’t be just reports and recommendations that will not be acted upon and will just gather dust in a folder inside some government office.

Pag sinara completely ang Sulpicio Lines you know what will happen.
how many more lives will they claim before they start shaping up. hay. i dont even know if its really a long-running curse or just a case of plain management negligence.
