Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero recently explained in an interview that he currently has no intentions to run for either the Presidency or the Vice-Presidency in 2010. He cites that he is not qualified for the required minimum age of 40 by 2010. He’s currently 38 years old and will only turn 40 October of 2010. He can only meet the age requirement 5 months after the elections have passed. He will continue to serve as a Senator since he has a full 6-year term since winning in 2007.
I find this good news because I’ve always believed that it would have been too early for Senator Escudero to run for the highest position in the land come 2010. I have a strong feeling though that come 2016, he will be the top contender, especially if he continues his brand of politics – young, dynamic, and very modern.

Yup! I turn 26 years old today.
i think chiz is overrated. he may be popular at present, but he has to realize that at the end of the day, all that matter really is his action and not his oratorical skills. he still have time to work on this though, but he has to stop talking and start acting now.
…and don’t get me started with loren ‘the wimp’ legarda. she should have stayed in the broadcasting industry.
Don’t be fooled by Chiz, people! Just because he dishes out good sound bites doesn’t make him competent. Did you see how he handled the Senate hearing on the reported car smuggling at Port Irene? At his first opportunity to show his mettle against the powers that be, he folded. What he did at the hearing was laughable. Clearly, he wasn’t keen on taking on Sen. Enrile head on.
Time to open our eyes, guys, and check the track record of Chiz. Start with this one: Sorsogon, the province he represented for 9 years in the House before moving to the Senate, was and continues to be one of the poorest in the country. Now, we want him to lead this country by 2010?

when i heard about him running, i also thought it’s too early for him to run in 2010.. i have so much faith in his passion about serving the country and the people. sure he’s gonna make a bid difference. can’t wait for 2016.
