“I move that the nomination be closed.” - Bayani Fernando
While Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero is denying rumors that he’s running for the Presidency in 2010, MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando is asking to be annointed as the LAKAS-CMD standard bearer in the upcoming Presidential elections. In an interview with Inquirer in Pangasinan, he further explained that no one else from LAKAS or KAMPI have signified their intention to run. I think that’s something you have to admire about the MMDA Chairman. He’s so blatantly honest and he really acts quick. As soon as he makes up his mind on something, he commits 110% and will do everything in his power for him to reach his goals.
As for being endorsed by PGMA, he had this to say:

“But, of course, when you’re the administrator, it’s always negative. The opposition can always hurl anything at you, including the kitchen sink,” Fernando said.
“But there’s still time for the President to improve on that rating … I think people will eventually get to see the things that she has done over the years,” he said.
Fernando said he was aware that with Ms Arroyo’s dismal rating, anyone she would endorse for president would be adversely affected.
“But, I’m part of her administration so I’ll stand by her. I have no reason to part or break relations with anyone,” he said.

I would have actually liked Bayani if he wasn’t using the tax payer’s money to plaster his name and face all over Metro Manila.

go go go Bayani Fernando wahahaha. yan ang tunay at maaasahan, hindi balimbing at nakahandang mag risk ng image alang-alang sa pinaniniwalaan nyang tama at mas makabubuti.
At least hindi sya yung balimbing na sasabit kung sa kung ano ang mas popular.

I can see why you’d be put off by such brass deed, after all the oak tree of corruption starts from a seed of seemingly innocuous action. Having said that, I wouldn’t quibble over small matter like that, Bayani in my opinion is one person who is capable and has proven to deliver good results. It’s understandable that not everyone will like him because when you start weaning people out of their bad habits and force them to follow the rules of the land, you’ll bound to look anything but charming. It all happened in Marikina before. People were raging for all the changes implemented by Bayani, but when they started to see the differences, their hatred changed into a sense of pride all because Bayani didn’t buckle from the hurdle of unpopularity.

Well I think he’s better than KABAYAN whom I think would be the one GMA would endorse. For me though, Miriam Santiago would be the best choice for the administration.

my contact at the sandigan bayan told me that bayani fernando is run for president or vice president is to escape/influence his graft and civil cases in the CA and SC.

I really think he is using his own money for his posters he has his own business after all which I think really snags him a lot of cash

Si Bayani Fernando lang ang nakikita kong may pagmamalasakit sa bayan sa kanyang trabaho at nakikita naman talaga natin ang kanyang mga nagawa na, ibig sabihin hindi siya kurakot, yung budget niya ay ginagamit niya mismo para sa kapakaana ng mamamayan. Kaya si Bayani lang ang karapatdapat na maupo sa malacanang. Ano ba ang nagawa sa mga politiko natin? Si Noli? wala! sunodsunod lang sa likod ni Gloria at delicado pag manalo si Noli dahil tuta siya ng ABSCBN/Meralco, gusto nyo bang tataas na naman ang singil ng kuryente? si Noli madaling manipulahin ng ABSCBN/Meralco dahil diyan lumaki ang kanyang ulo sa ABSCBN.
