Blogger Meet up with Senator Mar Roxas
As Senator Mar Roxas’ consultant on New Media, I arranged for him to have a casual dinner with some bloggers covering different topics and niches. The event happened yesterday (August 1, 2008) at Annabel’s Restaurant along Tomas Morato. I was very nervous at first since I barely had 3 days to organize everything! Despite the very short notice, a lot of bloggers were able to attend and we all had a really interesting and fun evening as the bloggers engaged Senator Roxas in discussions about politics, Batman, and current events.

More pictures and stories about the event after the jump.
First, let me thank you all the bloggers who were present during the event. Without you, this event wouldn’t have been successful. Namely:
Susan “Toots” Ople
Noemi Dado
Lester Cavestany
Jester
Arbet Bernardo
Marck Rimorin
Juned Sunido
Sonnie Santos
Abe Olandres
Paolo Florenda
Ding Gagelonia
Gail Villanueva
Marc Villanueva
Ellen Tordesillas
Manolo Quezon
Ricky Carandang
Carlo Ople
It’s too bad that several other bloggers that we invited couldn’t make it. Hopefully they can join the next coffee session which we’re already scheduling and preparing for. Anyway, moving on to the event, the bloggers really picked the brains of Senator Roxas. They asked several questions about the VAT, taxes, consumer rights, new media, the 2010 Presidential Elections, and even the recent Batman Dark Knight movie!
In fact, the discussion was so intense that Senator Roxas extended his time with us for that particular event. He was only scheduled to be there until 6:00PM but he ended up leaving around 7:30PM, hehe. I think the most interesting part was when a blogger asked him which Dark Knight character he would have loved to have had a drink with. Senator Roxas picked Harvey Dent since he said that he is the most interesting and multi-dimensional character amongst all the cast.

I’ll be talking about Senator Roxas’ new blog and website in a separate post. For now, I bid all of you a happy weekend! I’m too tired to write anymore since it’s already 5:09AM and I still have to get up at 7:30AM for a workshop. Cheers everyone!
