The MMDA made another blunder when they took out several U-Turn slots in Katipunan. I know that they mean well but sometimes mistakes like this can really irritate people. It almost took me an hour just to get from Blue Ridge to Quezon Avenue because of the ridiculous slow down in Katipunan. It’s bad enough that gas prices are soaring, but now we also have to contend with longer travel time and higher gas consumption because of the removal of quicker U-Turn slots. If Bayani is really serious in running for the Presidency, then he needs to re-evaluate his projects for the MMDA.
On a lighter note – the MMDA also has some good projects. The recent elevated U-Turn in C5 has made the travel time from Makati – Kalayaan – C5 – Libis much faster. So for that particular project, I tip my hat off to BF.

Hi. I’m a mom with two kids studying in Katipunan. My girl takes the school bus to and from school while I bring my younger child to and from school. You can just imagine the hell I’m going through because I pass by Katipunan twice a day, everyday during peak hours.
My children are late for school and it is exam week in Miriam and Ateneo. What used to be a 15-minute trip from White Plains to my child’s school now takes an hour! Not to mention the increased gas consumption. At 7 am today, my daughter’s school bus was still at the Katipunan flyover so they decided to walk from the Katipunan flyover to Miriam. This scheme is actually endangering our kids!
And nobody, and I mean nobody in MMDA, is man enough to admit that they made a stupid mistake. Imagine Mr. Nacancieno (?) telling people on TV that the traffic was caused by motorists opening up the u-turn slot in Katipunan! Hello??? I tried calling the offices of Mr. Bayani Fernando and Mr. Vergel De Dios many times today and they are always in meetings. Why don’t they hold their meetings right in the middle of Katipunan so they’ll know what we mean?
I DARE MR. FERNANDO TO DRIVE THROUGH KATIPUNAN TWICE A DAY, EVERY DAY DURING PEAK HOURS. I AM EVEN WILLING TO DRIVE HIM JUST TO GET MY POINT ACROSS.

1 hour from White Plains to Ateneo/Miriam? Grabe! I agree with you that BF and Vergel De Dios should take a drive in Katipunan during the morning rush hour themselves so they can get a better feel of what’s happening with their projects.
