The Real Alex Compton
Every Sunday I go to Victory Christian Fellowship over at the Music Museum in Greenhills. This week, the speaker was former basketball MVP Alex Compton. Initially I was a bit worried since I didn’t have a clue as to what a basketball player had to say about spirituality. However, I was really floored after hearing him speak. His talk was one of the most powerful messages I’ve ever heard in my life and I can’t help but blog about the experience.

For the most part, he talked about how God changed him when he finally decided to become a Christian. Watching him speak and listening to him talk really shows the difference. You can literally feel his passion and conviction for God while he talked. Gone was the basketball player and celebrity. While he was standing on the stage - he was just a normal man proclaiming how much he loved God and how much life has been better when he surrendered his life to God.

If ever Alex finds his way to this blog, I just want to say thank you because you definitely touched a lot of lives through your talk. Cheers!

He really illustrated the concept of going after a prize that lasts forever, and not just medals that rust and fade over time– and that’s the realization that we live to glorify God. He is our prize and we are His.
I’m still hung over from yesterday’s service haha.

Alex is an athlete who definitely desires nothing but to honor our God. Such a ‘beautiful’ person inside and out.

I have high respects for this man. Once I saw him at a gas station. He went out of the convenience store with several platic bags of food, and surprise, surprise, he gave those food to the street kids who were waiting for him by his car.
I felt bad for breaking up with him to be with my husband now. JOKE! Heheheh. Wag mo ko sumbong kay Keith.
