I had a really good time Friday evening when we had a reunion for our small group in Victory. Mich and I had dinner over at Atty. Ian’s house together with Pastor Dennis, Thammie, John, Jean, and Claire. We talked about a lot of things – from new media, blogging, business, to politics. I learned so many things and had a lot of realizations. This is one of the things that I really like about the people from this group – they really make me think, hahaha. Anyway, among all the things we talked about, they key takeaway was when Mich and I were alone in the car and I was about to start the engine. She said something that really got me dumbfounded. She said “This is the first group of friends that we share and both like.”

Mich and I have been together for 8 years. And you know what? She’s absolutely right. This is the first “barkada” that we commonly have. She has her friends, I have mine. She has issues with some of my friends, and I have mine with some of hers. That’s why sometimes it’s so hard for us to go to gimmicks together especially if it’s with a group that one of us isn’t really comfortable with.

This is the first shared group of friends that we’ve ever had in the relationship – something that we both started together. It’s sounds so simple but it means so much. For example, when she and I hear of a meeting or something with this particular group of friends, we’re both so game – no complaints, excuses, or rationalizations. We make time and move schedules if needed because we really enjoy the company.
So to everyone in our Small Group, thanks so much! You guys rock.
